Morgayn's BSD Unix Daemon Sweater

My daughter Morgayn always provides interesting knitting challenges. For one thing, she likes intarsia, and intarsia provides no end of challenges when you knit everything in the round. She also prefers images for her sweaters that have never before been charted by any knitter.

I had recently knitted some round-yoked sweaters, so I decided to add a daemon design to the bodice as well as a larger daemon for the front center.

Everything about this sweater went wrong and had to be ripped at least once. In my view, it's not one of my more successful projects, but it does feature the BSD Unix daemon, and that's something.

Adding the eyes and backstitching the tails and pitchforks of all those little daemons took a lot longer than I had anticipated.

One advantage of knitting this sweater was that it taught me a lot of things not to do for the next sweater that I knit for my older daughter. The next sweater featured the Linux mascot, Tux, and I like that sweater much more than I like this one.
