I am seventeen years old, and have spent about half of my life online. I had my first homepage at age six, published atrocious fanfiction at nine and opened my first proper website at fourteen. I am only somewhat ashamed of two of those facts.
I'm an obsessive geek. At the time of this update (March 2006) I am obsessed with:
Politics (I am a liberal Democrat. Some issues I feel particularly strongly about are gay rights, gender equality, and separation of church and state. I'm also very much a pacifist.) Religion (I am a Quaker-in-training. I have been known to preach; not doing it here.) The open source movement and related subjects. (I am a fairly recent Linux convert. I'm keen on Mandriva Linux, Mozilla, NetHack, and much more.) Star Trek (Recent addition. I began watching TOS only this June, and my dream now is to become a Vulcan.) Far too many authors to list: in particular Terry Pratchett, C. S. Forester and Jane Austen. Computer games from the '80s-'90s, specifically Sierra On-line's Space Quest, King's Quest, and Quest for Glory.
Currently, I plan to become a computer engineer when I grow up. More immediate plans include becoming "a trained web monkey" and helping to vote Arnold Schwarzenegger out of office this year.
I run a website: Hooray Takei! for my brother Remus. It's Star Trek related; specifically, it is dedicated to actor George Takei and his character, Mr. Sulu.
